What to teach your kids about the Philippine Peso

Kamusta kaibigan? 🙌🏼

We're dropping more Filipino things for your to teach your kids!

And today... it's all about the money 💵💰

Not only is it a practical skill that they can use in the future, but it also helps them understand and appreciate their Filipino culture. We're talking about the Philippine peso (₱ or PHP). It comes in two forms: paper bills and coins.

The paper bills are like the money we see in our wallets, but they come in different sizes to show different amounts of money. The biggest bill is worth 1000 pesos, and the smallest is worth 20 pesos. And the coins are round and come in different sizes and colors too!

You can also teach them how to say the Filipino phrases when they want to buy.

Have fun role playing using the Sari-Sari store or Palengke as a backdrop and get practicing learning all about the Philippine peso. Who knows? They might just be able to use this knowledge on your next trip home!
