Mooncakes are given to family, friends and business partners as a way to show unity and togetherness. The cake’s round shape represents the full moon and is stamped with the Chinese symbol of “harmony” or “longevity.”
Mid-Autumn is the best time to enjoy the full moon. It is a time when skies are at their clearest.
For people in China the full moon means family time. If they can't go home, they look at the moon. They know their family is looking at the moon too.
